Raspberry Pi 2 is here!

The Raspberry Pi 2 went on sale yesterday sporting a $35 price tag.

Specs are as follows:
  • A 900MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • 4 USB ports
  • 40 GPIO pins
  • Full HDMI port
  • Ethernet port
  • Combined 3.5mm audio jack and composite video
  • Camera interface (CSI)
  • Display interface (DSI)
  • Micro SD card slot
  • VideoCore IV 3D graphics core

You can read more about it here.

One of the interesting (and exciting) things is that Microsoft has announced that it will offer a specialized version of Windows 10 that supports Raspberry Pi 2.  This release will be free for the Maker community through the Windows Developer Program for IoT (Internet of Things).

Unfortunately, I've been swamped at work and didn't get a chance to order one before they were sold out everywhere.  :-(

EDIT: On backorder, but I ordered one.  It's supposed to be available to ship in 10 days.  We'll see.
